More celebrations and, more seriously, more talks.

We moved the party north last night to kick off a week of events in Brisbane to celebrate the release my new book, Art/Fashion in the 21st Century, co-authored with the wonderful Alison Kubler. On Tuesday night, thanks to the generosity of New York-based leathergoods house Coach, we had ourselves a party, held in their flagship store in the Queen Victoria Building, Sydney, followed by an equally glamorous affair last night in Brisbane. Here, some snaps of the event, made possible with the support of Santa Vittoria water and Bird in Hand wine, whose wares were very much enjoyed on both occasions.

A very big thank you to those who came, who let me scrawl inside their book (signing, I think they call it) and for the wonderful editorial support we've received for this book. A little update on that shows us Pages, The Urban ListManuscript and 10 Magazine. As the latter's associate editor Rebecca Khoury noted, the release of this book couldn't have come at a better time, with "Miuccia's murals, Karl's Chanel gallery, [and] Marc's memorable exit from LV very artistic in its own right." I'd like to say we planned it that way.

For those currently in the sunshine state, Alison and I are getting our serious voices on tomorrow for a panel discussion on the topic of art and fashion at the Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Art Gallery. Join us, along with designer Susan Dimasi of Materialbyproduct (who features in the book) and Nadia Buick of the Fashion Archives (which is fantastic - check it out here), from 3pm as we muse on the topic, and then for drinks in the cinema foyer after which, of course, we'd be more than happy to sign a copy of your book, a job from which neither of us will ever tire. More details for the GoMA event here.
